A blister is a small tray containing contact lens solution in which a new contact lens is stored until first use. After opening the blister, the packaging must be disposed of and in no way be used as a substitute for a conventional contact lens case. Various information about the contact lens is shown on each blister, including manufacturer, dioptre value, curvature, diameter, expiration date, batch code and cylinder, axis or addition (if applicable). There is always one contact lens in each blister.
